There are Many Different Kinds of Pests
Many spiders are quite scary! Certainly Redback, White-tail and even Black House spiders can deliver nasty bites – a big concern if young children and pets are around. At Southern Highlands Pest Control, we can provide a spider control program to keep your family and pets safe.
Ants are among the most difficult pests to control. With their complicated colony structure, ever changing foraging behaviour and of course large populations, successful ant control is a challenge even for the experts. Our experience combined with a range of specialist ant products allows us to get on top of even the most persistent ant problem.
Southern Highlands Pest Control treatment will prevent wasps building their nests on the outside of buildings, by spraying the outside walls (particularly under the eaves). If you have an established wasp nest, we will need to carry out a wasp nest elimination treatment. The exact type of treatment will depend on the species (paper wasp or European wasp) location of the nest and the size of the nest. In most cases we will carry out the treatment in the evening when the wasps are back in the nest and generally less active.
If you have bees nesting in or near your home, they need to be dealt with. Although bees are beneficial insects that help pollinate plants and produce honey, they can cause a safety concern. Bees are generally not aggressive but the chances of an accidental sting increases significantly, if a nest is nearby. Stings are always painful and for a those who are allergic to bees stings, can be life-threatening. Protecting family and pets is the number one priority. If bees are nesting in your home, in addition to the safety concern, their honey can cause damage to your home and give rise to other pest problems.
Nobody wants a cockroach in their home, business or worse still their restaurant. With their fast scurrying movements and association with disease, they certainly are disgusting. Here at Southern Highlands Pest Control, if you have a cockroach infestation that can’t be dealt with under our general pest control treatment, then we can carry out specialised cockroach control treatments to eliminate the problem.
We are ideal hosts for fleas and even our pets are also often affected. Adult fleas need blood and will feed on us and our pets. In warmer weather they can multiply at an astonishing rate and therefore it is important to put in place an effective flea control program to break the cycle.

Rodent problems (rats and mice) can be difficult to control. Success comes from understanding which rodent is causing the problem, applying the appropriate treatment and correcting the conditions that allowed the rodents to enter the building, such that re-infestation does not occur. Southern Highlands Pest Control provide rodent control programs to eliminate your rodent problem. The treatment typically involved placing rodent bait in a locked bait station in the roof space. If however, a more significant rodent problem is suspected, we will need to carry out a specific rodent control treatment program.
